BADFW Voices of Youth
Another remarkable FIRST and original from BA-DFW - "Voices of Youth" -- A new youth forum has been initiated with much enthusiasm by a group of teenagers in our community. This group will provide a platform for the young people in our community to interact with each other, participate meaningfully in community activities, and volunteer and actively participate in charitable causes.

Upcoming Activities
VoYagers will host the Bengali Association Mela (BAM) on the picnic day, May 17th, 2008. The Mela includes a wide range of fun activities designed for different age groups -- games for young and adult, competitions, raffle draw, and lots of prizes.
The funds raised during the Mela will go to Dallas Children's Hospital. Please come and join us to support our kids and their charity!

VoYagers thank all the supporters of their bake sale during Durga Puja, and also those who donated clothes or money. View the acknowledgement from Children's Medical Center of Dallas, the recipient of the money raised at the event. The donated clothes will be transported to India by one of the VoYagers' supporters for donation to a charity.
Past Activities
At Saraswati Puja, VoYagers will be collecting school supplies to aid a local charity. Please bring some school items that you can donate
VoYagers are asking for your support of their food drive for Food Bank of North Texas. Please drop of your canned and non-perishable food items at dropoff locations identified here.
For Durgotsav 2007, the BA-DFW "VoYagers" are organizing a garments collection drive and a bake sale. We urge you to please bring your new/gently used clothes (Indian or Western) to our Pujo, for collective donation to a charity in India. There will also be opportunities to have family portraits taken with Ma Durga for a small fee. Proceeds from the bake sale and portraits will be donated to the Children's Hospital of Dallas. |
